 Youth Protection Training is now required for all registered adults, including Merit Badge Counselors.  The training course may be completed online by creating an account at  Youth Protection Training must be re-taken every two years.


What is a “Trained Leader”?


A Scout leader is entitled to wear the Trained leader emblem when he or she has completed some basic but important training courses. A direct contact Scout leader is considered fully trained and entitled to wear the Trained leader emblem when he or she has completed the following training courses and the specific training for the position.  All adults must take Youth Protection training before submitting an Adult Application to be a registered Leader.  All on-line training requires a MyBSA account, which can be created (at no cost) at the log-in page.
